This listing is for a beautiful American Brilliant Period (ABP) cut glass divided dish, c. This gorgeous dish has beautiful clarity with ornate cuttings and textures.Features hobstar clusters and fan cuttings and round facet cuts on handles. The actual term for this divided dish is "caboret". These dishes were produced by the glass blower from one gather of glass and were not made into the divided sections by adding additional glass.
The skill required to accomplish this must have been tremendous as how it was done is still a puzzle today. The pattern is one of several called "Heart" that was cut by different ABP cut glass companies, however, this design also includes the "Russian" cutting variant known as "Persian" inside the heart outlines. This design was patented by the F.Parsche Company of Chicago in 1907. This unusual dish is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Measures 7 1/2" in diameter and 1 3/4" high, 9 1/2" long and 2 5/8" high at the handles. This research information was kindly provided by a knowledgeable ABP cut glass collector and is certainly appreciated.
