Welcome to ANTIQUES & MOORE! This listing is for a gorgeous American Brilliant Period oil banquet lamp or "Gone With the Wind" lamp in the Persian variation of the Russian pattern by T. This lamp has the matching base and globe with the chimney having a cut band near the top. Although not original to the lamp itself, the cut chimney makes a nice addition to the lamp. The original oil font is intact and is marked E. Duplex on each knob and was made by the Edward Miller Co. The fittings are silver plated and polish nicely. Very few of these lamps were made due to the enormous expense involved in creating the various complex components of each lamp. The Russian pattern was patented in 1882 and Hawkes Persian variation is the most elaborate variation made of this pattern. This lamp is pictured on page 115 of the book "Rarities in American Cut Glass" by Herbert Wiener and Freda Lipkowitz.

Please note that our photos show the top globe is placed upside down over the hurricane and this was not noticed when the photos were taken. The lamp measures 17 14 high (as shown to top of hurricane) and weighs 7.6 pounds.

The base measures 5 3/4" high with a 3 1/2" diameter top and 6 1/2 overall width. With burner in place, the lamp measures 8 3/4 high to lower edge of silver burner. The globe measures 4 1/2" high with a 3 1/8" top diameter and 5 1/2 overall width. Lamp measures 13 to top of globe. Chimney measures 8 1/2" high with a 1 3/4" top diameter.

Overall height is 17 1/4. Lamp weighs 7.6 pounds. This fabulous cut glass lamp is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minimal, if any, signs of normal wear. There may possibly be a nick or two on the cut edges of the pattern, however, we did not find any chips, nicks, etc. Antiques & Moore have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
